========================================= VSM Version 1.3.0 to Version 1.3.12 Patch Date: 2/7/2002 ========================================= ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.12 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- Bug Fixes: -------------- * Fixed a rare LDC import issue that only occurs when the analysis method was >20 characters in length and the user tried to update existing records. Because the method was truncated when inserted into VSM, the records wouldn't match up between LDC and VSM so the record would not update. VSM now detects long method and CAS names that potentially would cause problems and alerts the user to input an alias that gets stored in the database. * Fixed the chemistry report crashing due to null compound names. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.11 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * added in the ability to view log/section files in Adobe Acrobat PDF format Bug Fixes: -------------- * Removed the automatic updating of LDC imported files where if the sample result was rejected with a 'R' qualifier, VSM was set to flag the record as do not use. This function has been removed. * Fixed the Chemistry/Graph menu error. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.10 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * added in the ability to export chemistry results to MONA * added in some new features to Create LDC Samples to automatically populate the sample grid Bug Fixes: -------------- * fixed the Surfer contouring to generate ACAD release 13 file format rather than ACAD 14 file format as there were compatibility issues with ACAD 14 file format. NOTE: only affected users with Surfer 7.04 and above versions. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.7 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * added ablilty to process multiple Manual Results without exiting. * added ablilty to go back to previous common Manual Result without. Bug Fixes: -------------- * fixed the AutoCAD exporting in the fluid levels to do multiple date ranges. * fixed some items on the Manual Results screen. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.4 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- Bug Fixes: -------------- * fixed the EVS exporting to correctly flag the elevations as 1 not -1. * fixed the LDC Sample import to add in the sample depth as it wasn't before. * fixed a rare bug with the standard chemistry report that would cause the program to crash under certain conditions. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.4 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * added in the ability to enter in the well, piezometer, boring, probe, surface sample, and station detail through the menus. Bug Fixes: -------------- * fixed the check code tables section of the new project wizard so that it no longer displays the last table twice * fixed an error that would occur when in the manual geologic log entry screen when a project didn't have a site or area. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.3 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * updated the chemistry report to now handle metal results better. Instead of putting each metals method on a separate line, you now have the option of not reporting the method so that all the metals for a sample will be used. Note: if there are duplicate results for a compound, the maximum detected value is displayed. * updated the chemistry report to differentiate between filtered and unfiltered samples. * chemistry report titles are no longer saved in the registry but are now saved in the user's database. * updated all the reports to write their temporary tables into each users database thereby averting a potential crash when two or more people are trying to use the same report at the same time. * Note: custom reports will crash unless they are updated. updates to your custom reports are free. Contact GeoAnalysis if your report needs upgrading. Bug Fixes: -------------- * Fixed the LDC importing routine to add the filtered tag to the database for filtered samples. * fixed an error that would occur when moving the mouse over the map and a long name is encountered. ---------------------------- VSM 1.3.0 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * Removed the C_LabQual table and replaced it with the new tables C_QualLab, C_QualProject, and C_QualValidation. Standard entries have been put into these tables in the template and via the conversion program. If the user has any existing non-standard qualifiers in their database, these qualifiers must be transferred to the new database format manually. You will need to upgrade your database using the upgrader tool provided with this patch. * Removed the Chemistry Reports "Single Location/Multi Compounds" and "Multi Locations/Single Compound" as they didn't add any new functionality to the reports that were not in the "Multi Locations/Multi Compound" report. * Significant changes to the "Multi Locations/Multi Compound" default chemistry report which included: added ablilty to do filter by 'all hits only' or 'everything'; ability to adjust display order via controls on the window and via the analyte groups; reports lab specific, project and validation qualifiers; and now includes duplicate and split results. * Updated the LDC Create Sample Entries grid to now sort the locations based upon the location name instead of the U_LOC_Name so that finding a matching location is much easier. * Non-detects on graphs are now plotted with a "<" symbol in front of the result when the data labels are shown. * Added ability to sort the analytes by name or CAS number in either ascending or descending order by clicking on the upper grid's column header. Bug Fixes: -------------- * Fixed the bug where a newly created manual entry sample would not show up when the user went to go put in the manual results for the sample. * Importing data now forces a regenerate the V_SampleList table upon exiting the screen and successfully importing data. * Fixed the numbering bug in lower grid on the create/modify analyte groups screen. ---------------------------- VSM 1.2.0 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * All the standard reports have been redone so that now they report in Excel rather than only doing hard copy reporting as before. This will give the end user total flexibility of the report prior to printing. This does require the user to have Excel installed on the same machine. * Logplot created files now will display additional information about the location including well screen interval. If LogPlot is located on the end users machine, it will automatically launch the LogPlot created file and display it. Bug Fixes: -------------- * Fixed crashing bug with the "Results Input" screen (under "Data\Manual Input" menu) when loading up the database. * Fixed crashing bug with VSM-Subset routine that would cause the program to crash if the D_Fluidlvl measure_dates fields were null. ---------------------------- VSM 1.1.9 Patch ---------------------------- New Changes: -------------- * Added as an Export option under the Locations/Chemistry/Geology/Hydrology menus the ability to export a data file and a template file into the RockWare99 file format. * Added a new option to save a geology log into LogPlot file format. Note: a new text file is located in the VSM root directory called: "Logplot2VSM_FillNames.txt". This file contains the list of VSM fill patterns and their associated LogPlot fill pattern name. All the default VSM geologic codes have already been assigned. The file format is fairly simple. You can open up the file in a text-editing program (e.g., Notepad) and change the assignments or add new ones. Each VSM and LogPlot code is on its own line and is tab separated with the VSM code first and the LogPlot code second. The user can add comments to the file by starting the line with "\\". * Added the ability to have a Lab Data Consultants (LDC) file automatically be used to create new sample names. The user will still need to associate a location with each sample via a dropdown control in a grid. * Added a new utility program "VSM-SubSetDB" that will take an existing VSM database and creates a new database that is a subset of the first. A wizard will walk you through the process of defining the new parameters for subsetting the database. For instance, this utility can be used to subset out soils data out of a large database that contains air/ground water and soil in it. The new database will be located in the same directory as the original database so that all the predefined basemaps/views/font sizes.... will be the same as the original. VSM was also modified so that upon project opening, a new button will be displayed if the file opened was a subsetted database. The user can click on this button to retrieve the parameter information that was originally defined to create the subsetted database. Bug Fixes: -------------- * Fixed crashing bug with the "Location Input" screen (under "Data\Manual Input" menu) when saving the location.
